Neil Bartley is a name synonymous with the house scene in Edinburgh. Through residencies at the legendary AFTERDARK and Kink (Scotland) he built up his reputation in the scene. With current residencies at the mighty Musika in Edinburgh and the GarageUnlimited warehouse party in Estonia, he continues to provide upfront beats to the capital and beyond.
Back in 2003 Neil beat competition from around Scotland to win the Bacardi B-Bar DJ competition which was hosted by Scottish radio station, Beat 106. This earned him a trip to New York and a set at Scotland’s largest annual festival, T in the Park on his return. From there a residency stretching four years at awaited at AFTERDARK where he quickly secured himself as its frontman and an Edinburgh favourite.
Regular radio appearances on stations such as Beat 106, XFM Scotland, Galaxy, HFM (Ibiza), Ring FM (Estonia) and a whole host of internet stations have helped increase his exposure. Neil also presented a number of one-off festival radio shows on Edinburgh’s’ Fresh Air FM.
Over the years Neil has had the pleasure of working with and supporting some of the main players in the scene. These have included Spencer Parker, Sharam Jey, Paul Harris, David Guetta, Mark Knight, Funkagenda, John Digweed, Huggy, John Mancini, Tom Novy, Axwell, Martin Solveig, Mark Trophy, Tim Sheridan, Sandy Rivera, Tim Deluxe, Paulo Mojo, Micky Slim, King Unique, Chris Lake, Sebastien Leger, Deadmau5, Paul Woolford, Smokin Jo, D. Ramirez, Booka Shade, KOS, Popof, Dubfire, Groove Armada, James Zabiela, Eric Prydz, Luciano, M.A.N.D.Y., Nic Fanciulli, Danny Howells, Alex Metric and Felix da Housecat.
Outside of his residencies, but still inside the UK, Neil has performed at such clubs and festivals as Progression, Stereotype, Unlock The House, Hed Kandi, XPRESS, Colours, Karnival, Boombox, the Bacardi B-Bar tent at T in the Park, the Musika tent at Fantasylands and Yello in Belfast.
Internationally, Neil headlined three years running at the Fiesta en la Playa beach party in Mexico, the GarageUnlimited warehouse party and Airport Jam festival in Estonia as well as playing regularly in Ibiza at various bars and clubs including Meganite at Privilege with FILTHY gorgeous.
The reopening of the Liquid Room after the fire which forced its closure eighteen months ago will bring with it the return of Musika to its monthly home. This summer sees another trip over to Estonia to play GarageUnlimited and Rulers of The Deep‘s Tallinn Express.
